4TH CARIBBEAN SEA JAZZ FESTIVAL | 08-Oct-2010 to 09-Oct-2010

This annual outdoor festival promised an impressive line-up of local and international musicians at Cas di Cultura. Headliners from past festivals were Michel Camilo, Praful and Randal Corsen, Ploctoons, Moonbaker, Cubop City Band, Paoli Mejias, David Sanborn and Izaline Calister[…]

The fourth edition of the Caribbean Sea Jazz Festival Aruba took place on October 8 and 9, 2010.  This Festival was organized – once again – to give the people of Aruba and its visitors a high quality music event with the best possible line-up.  International, regional, and national artists of the highest standard performed at this one-of-its-kind Festival on Aruba!

Since august 2007, Cas di Cultura and its plaza has proved to be the pounding heart of a great variety of music, theatre, and arts for one weekend each year.  The visitors to the Caribbean Sea Jazz Festival Aruba have enjoyed the opportunity to experience this explosion of artistic expressions in its many forms.

Following the grand tradition of great Jazz/Music Festivals in the Caribbean Region (Puerto Rico, Barbados, St. Lucia, Bonaire, Curacao), Aruba looks to share the spotlight in offering the Caribbean Sea Jazz Festival music event for many years to come.

The fourth Caribbean Sea Jazz Festival took place on October 8 and 9, with a warm-up preceding the festival.  Held at Cas di Cultura, as is customary, the event has grown to full adulthood through the years.  This means that world-class performers can be attracted to the event and thus the 2010 edition was filled with the names of enormously talented artists.  Names like Issac Delgado, the salsa virtuoso, Tizer featuring Karen Briggs , Marcus Miller, Swing Design, Red Fulka with Roel Calister were the festival’s headliners without contest[…]  Cosy Cotton performed on Aruba for the third year now and we can tell you: it makes the hearts of local and visiting blues fans beat faster. This band is truly something else!

But the Caribbean Sea Jazz Festival would not have been complete without the considerable talent of local bands like Sazon Cubano, Mystical Connection, Soul Cowboy, the Muziekschool Band, TimbAche, Off Shore, Serghio Jansen, Ivan Jansen and Data Panik, which is now getting international recognition.

All of the above got a place in the spotlight on one of the stages at the Plaza di Cultura[…]
